The weather forecast was for strong westerly winds so instead of doing the proposed paddle for the Wednesday paddlers I decided to join the Wanders paddle which was planned to do a shore line paddle which would protect us for any westerlies. The Wednesday group was planning on going to D'Arcy which entails a lot of long crossings.
The Wanders were launching from Smugglers Cove but Lynn and I launched from Telegraph Cove and paddled to Smugglers Cove to meet the rest of the group. Was great to meet up with people I haven't seen for over 18 months.
I had put on my dry suit but by the time we had reached Telegraph Cove I felt I was starting to over heat. I stopped to change into my lighter paddling gear while the rest continued on. I caught up with them at Arbutus Cove.
At Cormorant Point we had a nice relaxing lunch before heading back to our launch sites. Had a little bit of head wind.
Of course the predicted strong winds didn't materialize but I was glad I had decided to go on this paddle.
At 87 and a half John is an inspiration to the rest of us "younger" paddlers.
Only a few pictures from this paddle. I forgot to charge the battery.
